Our first Cárta Nollag Competition was a wonderful whole-school initiative that truly showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of our students. The aim of the competition was to use as much Gaeilge as possible while designing a beautifully decorated Christmas card to be displayed around the school and the standard of entries was exceptional. We were incredibly proud of every student who took part. One winner was selected from each class:
Lucy (Rang Ms. McCabe), Fiadh (Rang Ms. Hegarty), Elena (Rang Ms. Walsh), Reilly F(Rang Ms. Earls), Elle (Rang Ms. Fagan), Phoebe (Rang Ms. Kennedy/Gumisiriza), Claudia (Rang Ms. McNeice), Laura (Rang Ms. Falkner/Sorohan), Ruby (Rang Ms. Crosby), Ruishan (Rang Ms. Kingsbury), Aoife (Rang Ms. McTigue), Riya (Rang Ms. Horan), Eleanor (Rang Ms. Travers), Elsa (Rang Ms. Nolan), Ciara (Rang Ms. McHugh), Nicole (Rang Ms. Barnes), Harriet (Rang Ms. Cahalane) and Luoran (Rang Ms. Johnston).
Special mentions were awarded to Emilia and Keeva for their outstanding extra use of Irish. Our Captaein Gaeilge did a wonderful job judging the competition with fairness and care, and they also read beautifully over the intercom to announce the winners. Each winner received a festive pair of stocaí to celebrate their success.
Maith sibh gach uile duine! A huge well done to the committee for an excellent first term, and
Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir!
