Dare to Believe

24-November-25
Dare to Believe

Launched in 2019, Dare to Believe inspires children to “dare to believe” in themselves through interaction with Ireland’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes. The programme now features 44 world-class ambassadors and role models delivering Olympic Values and movement-based activities to schools across Ireland.

Each video over the two-week programme introduces a different Irish sports star and performs a warm-up, an emotions check-in, a main movement and a cooling down exercise with the pupils. The Fundamental Movement Skills are promoted within these videos.

The contributors to this year's programme include none other than our very own teachers Ms Cahalane and Ms Barnes. Ms Barnes was the dance choreographer for the theme dance. RTE came to Mount Anville Primary School with Amee Leigh Costigan on Friday 21st November to film the Dare to Believe dance routine. Paris 2024 Olympian Amee Leigh Costigan's background as a former sprinter helps her to outrun opponents on the rugby field. She is Ireland's Rugby Sevens top try-scorer.

The 6th classes and members of the MAPS Active Committee performed wonderfully. They are live on television, News2day on Tuesday 25th November at 420pm and online on rte player within an hour of that.
