Today marks the final day of my chapter at Mount Anville Primary School. As I leave after 21 wonderful years, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire school community for the support, kindness and friendship I have received throughout my time here.
To the Trustees and the Board of Management, thank you for your steadfast commitment to ensuring that Mount Anville Primary School continues to provide the highest standard of education, always rooted in the values and ethos of the Sacred Heart. It has been a privilege to play a part in continuing the legacy entrusted to us by the Religious Society of the Sacred Heart and by the many dedicated Boards of Management who have served this school over the years. I have always been conscious that we are merely custodians, building on the vision, faith and commitment of those who came before us, while striving to leave the school in an even stronger position for those who will follow.
To my colleagues, past and present, thank you for your dedication, professionalism and wonderful team spirit. It has been a privilege to work alongside such talented and caring people. I have never known a staff quite like you. Every day, you gave so much of yourselves to ensure that each child felt seen, valued and cared for, while providing the highest quality learning experiences to help every pupil discover and develop their gifts. Your generosity, commitment and belief in children have made Mount Anville the very special place it is, and I will always be grateful to have been part of this remarkable team.
To our parents, thank you for your trust, encouragement and extraordinary generosity with both your time and your financial support. Your commitment has enabled us to provide exceptional learning experiences for your children, and your partnership with the school has been one of our greatest strengths. I have never ceased to be amazed by your willingness to support our community and all that we strive to achieve together. The opening of our Sensory Room last Wednesday is a fitting reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared purpose. The new Multi-Purpose Play Area, which will serve generations of children to come, will stand as another lasting legacy of that same spirit of partnership and generosity.
And finally, to the pupils, who have always been, and always will be, the reason for all that we do. It has been the greatest privilege to teach, guide and learn from you. I have loved every day spent in your company and will miss the energy, enthusiasm and fun that you brought to each school day. Never lose your curiosity, your sense of adventure or your love of learning. Stay active, keep asking questions, keep exploring new ideas, and never stop learning it is, after all, the very best way to stay young. Thank you for the laughter, the smiles and the memories. You will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Mount Anville Primary School will always hold a very special place in my heart. I leave with immense gratitude, wonderful memories and every confidence that the school will continue to flourish in the capable hands of Ms Sharkey, Ms Horan and the team of wonderful teachers and SNAs.
