We are proud to share the exciting news that our school has been awarded its seventh Green Flag, this time for Global Citizenship – Energy. This remarkable achievement highlights our ongoing commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability.
Over the past two years, our Green Committee has been hard at work, both maintaining the standards of our six previous flags and focusing on new initiatives aimed at reducing our energy use and promoting global responsibility. Their efforts included appointing Energy Monitors to help manage classroom energy use, conducting school-wide energy surveys, and promoting sustainable travel through our Walk on Wednesdays initiative.
On Tuesday, representatives from the Green Committee had the honour of attending the Green Flag Awards Ceremony at the Helix, accompanied by Ms. Travers and Ms. Munro. It was a fantastic day filled with celebration and recognition of the hard work put in by schools across the country.
Today, the whole school gathered outside to mark this wonderful occasion with the official raising of the Green Flag.
A big well done to the Green Committee and all of the staff involved, in particular Ms. Travers. Let’s continue to lead by example and work together for a greener, more sustainable future!
