Bhí Lá Glas againn inniu (we had our Green Day today) to celebrate the St Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday weekend ahead. The girls, their teachers and SNAs were all wearing something green, and they looked fabulous. Aimsir agus Nuacht an Lae continued as usual, with the news and weather read out over the intercom for all the classes to hear.
Cake Sale
The sixth class girls and the dedicated team of sixth class parents worked incredibly hard preparing for our Díolachán Cácaí (Cake Sale). This morning they were up very early collecting cakes, setting up stalls, selling raffle tickets and promptly returning containers to their owners. During the cake sale itself, the sixth class teachers supervised and helped to ensure everything ran smoothly.
The diligence and dedication of everyone involved certainly paid off, as the event was a great success. Everyone brought in gorgeous homemade treats and the whole school had a brilliant time visiting the sale with their classes to enjoy all the goodies.
Bhí an crannchúr ar siúl chomh maith(the raffle also took place). The prizes had been accumulating in Croí na Scoile throughout the week and the girls passing by had been inspecting them very carefully! Many thanks to all those who generously donated raffle prizes to the school. There was something to suit everyone. There was huge excitement as the winners were called out over the intercom and they made their way to the hall to collect their prizes. The top prize of Principal for the Day went to Robyn in 3rd Class.
The cake sale raised a phenomenal total of approximately €12,000, with the final amount to be confirmed next week. Parents are incredibly generous and the school community is very grateful for the ongoing support.
