On Thursday 21st May 2026, pupils from Mount Anville Primary School proudly represented the school at the annual Santry Games. It was a fantastic day of athletics, teamwork, and school spirit, with students competing in a wide variety of track and field events.
Our 5th and 6th class athletes took part in sprints, relay races, long-distance races, throwing events, and jumping competitions. All of the girls showed great determination, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship throughout the day, cheering one another on and giving their very best effort.
A special congratulations goes to Heidi, who achieved an excellent 3rd place bronze medal in the high jump competition. This was a wonderful achievement and a proud moment for both Heidi and the school.
The team have been expertly coached and encouraged by Tony Burns every Tuesday morning before school for the past number of weeks and, of course, our own PE teacher Mr Bastien. On the day itself Ms Cahalane and Mr Bastien accompanied the team and were incredibly proud of the students’ efforts and positive attitudes
The weather was lovely, making it an even more enjoyable day for everyone involved. While there were many fantastic performances on the track and field, the highlight for many pupils came right at the end of the day when everyone enjoyed practising their hill rolling together!
The Santry Games were a brilliant experience for everyone involved, and we are extremely proud of all the students who represented Mount Anville Primary School so well. Well done to all!
