We are thrilled to announce a very exciting new addition to our school, a beautifully designed Sensory Pathway! This is a purposeful path filled with engaging activities making it a space for learning, mindfulness, and fun.
Some Features of Our Sensory Walkway
Feelings Meter: Featuring faces and words that represent a range of emotions, this chart helps students develop emotional awareness.
Hopscotch: A bright and colorful hopscotch path that engages students in physical activity, promoting coordination and balance as they jump from one square to the next.
Donkey Kick Station: This playful movement helps boost core strength, body awareness, and coordination.
Finger Trails: The finger trail sections includes patterns that students trace with their fingers, encouraging focus, patience, and fine motor skill development. Moving slowly along the path with their fingers helps students center their attention and calm their minds.
Wall Press: The wall press station encourages students to stand and press against the wall with their hands. This is a calming activity that releases built-up tension, making it an effective tool for self-regulation.
Animal Walk Wheel: This creative station invites students to spin a wheel to choose an animal walk—like hopping like a frog, waddling like a penguin, or stomping like an elephant. This activity is both entertaining and beneficial for motor skill development, building strength and balance.
