Hannah from 3rd Class stepped into a very important role today as she became our 'Principal for the Day' after winning the top prize in our April cake sale raffle.
Her big day kicked off at 8:45am when she officially signed her contract and received a detailed list of principal duties. She jumped straight into action, welcoming students and staff at the school gates and proudly introducing herself to the lollipop lady, teachers, and pupils as they arrived.
She then visited each classroom and met the senior management team to discuss the events of the day.
After a busy morning, Hannah took a well-deserved break in the staffroom before heading out for her yard supervision.
Later, she confidently led the whole school assembly. She introduced the student council, acknowledged many students for their fantastic sporting accomplishments during the week, and even made some big announcements. To everyone’s delight, Principal Hannah declared that there would be no homework next Thursday, and on Friday the 13th, students from 1st to 6th Class can come to school in their pyjamas! Since the Junior and Senior Infants will be away on their school tour that day, they’re allowed to bring a teddy to school instead.
Her favourite part of the day was giving a speech to the incoming Junior Infants and their parents as they visited the school in the afternoon.
Huge congratulations to Hannah, who did an excellent job and showed she’s more than ready to run the school!
