6th Class performance of 'The Little Mermaid'
A review of the musical: "The Little Mermaid" by Naomi
Today Mount Anville Primary School, (located on the Lower Kilmacud Road) was transformed into a place of magic and wonder by the 6th classes and their end of year musical - the Little Mermaid.
With singing, acting and amazing dance choreography in every corner, I was flabbergasted by three characters’ acting ability. Sebastian with has accent and humour, Ursula with her evil “satisfactual” voice echoing through the school and of course the seagulls with their jolly attitude and “suspect knowledge”. I can’t go on without mentioning Ariel’s outstanding voice. The costumes were amazing and on target. The special effects were fantastic too. Props were great. King Titan was great with a projecting voice. The only metaphor I can use to describe it is “as spectacular as the sea”.

Another outstanding performance from the Mount Anville Primary School’s 6th class. They performed The Little Mermaid better than the DVD.
My favourite character was Sebastian - he stood out from the rest. The electric eels were amazing as well as their outfits. Ursula I particularly loved - she had the evil that Ursula has. The lighting was good. I loved the dancing because they all knew what they were doing. I was amazed by the singing of Ursula - I don’t think she needed Ursula’s voice. But I have to say - Ariel’s voice is magnificent. I don’t have any words to say how amazing the costumes were.
All of the actors understood their characters. They were amazing. They had to project their voices.
In my opinion, I would give it 10 out of 10.

Today an outstanding performance was put on by Mount Anville Primary School’s 6th class. It was so enchanting - my jaws dropped as soon as it started. With the outstanding and yet original characters - Ariel, Ursula and Prince Eric. All of them made it so amazing the audience were in tears with Ariel’s long romance and laughing with Scuttle’s funny humour. The timing especially was my absolute favourite.
The waves danced. Personally this performance blew me away so much I could even say that it was the best performance produced in Ireland this year.
I hope that these young but yet talented actors know how much they mean to everyone.
Make sure you watch the amazing performance.
