Mount Anville 6th Class Musical
The Mount Anville 6th class Musical takes place in June and is a highlight of their 6th class experience. The musical gives every student an opportunity to develop, and in many cases discover their stage or musical talents. The girls are involved in all aspects of the production, from stage craft to advertising, from ticket selling to costume designing and from fundraising to lighting, the girls are totally involved from start to finish. Everyone’s talents and specialities are welcomed and appreciated. Every student in 6th class participates in performing on stage including singing songs, dancing and acting out the scenes from a well-known musical. It is a major collaborative project where the students work hard together and learn something about themselves, about others and about what it takes to produce a large-scale project. It’s safe to say that there is a huge sense of achievement and pride on completion of the production. At its core, the musical is a lot of fun. But at the same time, the experience also
develops character, unearths talent and builds confidence. The students get to experience what it is like to perform with a sound engineer and a lighting technician. And of course, they get to experience performing their show over two nights on stage for their families and the students of Mount Anville.
Last year's production of Beauty and the Beast was a huge success!
