In recognition of the cost of preparing children and young people to return to primary school each September, Minister Norma Foley, T.D has announced funding to provide free school books, including workbooks, from September 2023.
Funding is being provided directly by the Department to implement the scheme and schools will now have the responsibility for providing school books, workbooks and copybooks to all students at the start of the year.
