Our fantastic 4th Class scientists had a brilliant time at the ESB Science Blast 2025 in the RDS on Monday! After weeks of research, investigations, and experiments, both classes put together amazing displays for the event.
4th Class explored the question “Does teamwork really make the dream work?” Using scientific skills and processes, they conducted five different activities to test their hypothesis. They found that teamwork was highly effective for tasks like building a tower, completing a scavenger hunt, and relay races but less successful when creating a song or dance—a result they had predicted.
To deepen their research, they interviewed teachers for insights from a sports and teaching perspective, as well as Olympians for their views on teamwork in high-level competition. Their final presentation impressed the judges, who noted how well the girls took turns speaking and how they engaged the whole school community in their project. The detailed posters, thoughtful research, and interactive elements made their exhibit stand out.
The girls also enjoyed visiting other stands and listening to talks throughout the event. A huge well done to the girls, Ms.Barnes and Ms.McTigue!
